TOOLBOX

The TOOLBOX is general information for people navigating the housing continuum as well as for housing providers.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
Anyone who is seeking or living in housing has standard rights regardless of whether it is standard rental housing, recovery housing, long term care including assisted living, adult group homes or nursing homes and other types of supportive housing.  Some of these rights are outlined in Fair Housing and Landlord/Tenant Laws.   Others will be outlined in the guidelines developed by a specific government agency as well as additional rights that may be outlined in the policies of the housing provider.  In addition, both the tenant and the housing provider have obligations to each other and processes to follow.
HOUSING EDUCATION
Throughout Cuyahoga County you will find Fair Housing and Landlord/Tenant trainings.  They may be provided by Housing Organizations such as the Fair Housing Center, through housing courts and local cities. These trainings are most often at no cost and take place online as well in sessions at various locations.  In addition to training they will have FREE resources on their websites.
